Upgrade Paragon / BlueLine / Paragon 2 / Paragon 3 to Paragon 4

We are proud to offer upgrades to Paragon 4. Paragon 4 upgrades are available for any older HO Scale BLI engine as long as it has been produced in Paragon 3 or 4 at least once. If the engine has not been produced in Paragon 3 or 4, then we can still perform the upgrade, however sounds from a different engine will need to be used.

 

Due to compatibility issues, the cab light, if equiped, will either be set for a CV for manual control (in some cases with older QSI to Paragon 3 upgrade), if possible, or can be disconnected, or left alone which often means it will work backwards (in the case of a Paragon 2 to Paragon 3 upgrade).The smoke unit and cab light should work correctly for Paragon 3 to Paragon 4 upgrades.

 

Please be aware that when we perform the upgrade, we have to leave the smoke unit disconnected on Paragon and BlueLine series engines.

 

Paragon 2/3 to Paragon 4 will keep smoke unit functionality.

 

Paragon 2 diesel engines with smoke are not upgrdable to Paragon 4, without disconnecting the smoke unit.

 

 

NOTE: While the upgrade will include the decoder, no additional lights are wired in, etc.
